GREEPER Speed Laces
These unique speed laces provide loads more support than traditional elasticated speed laces (reducing the chances of injury) and help to break world records in Ironman.
Ironman Arizona 2010, 21st November – three of the six podium places were occupied by athletes who use the revolutionary GREEPER® Laces.
Chrissie Wellington won in a time of 8:36:13 and Leanda Cave was third. Tom Lowe also came in third posting a British Ironman®Record, including the fastest marathon split of the day – quite remarkable for his debut Ironman®.
On 18 July 2010 Chrissie Wellington broke the world record for the Iron-distance triathlon in Roth, Germany. She recorded a time of 8hours 19:13 to obliterate her own previous mark by 12 minutes and 46 seconds.
Wellington’s marathon time of 2:48:54 after completing a 3800m swim and record breaking 112mile bike ride was the fastest ever achieved in an iron-distance triathlon. Of her GREEPERS laces Chrissie said:
“The laces were amazing! I really do think they gave my feet the stability and comfort that I needed to run to a new World Record!”
She said: “I’m overjoyed, yet overwhelmed. Hopefully I have redefined the limits for myself, and for others, of what is possible. It has been one of the best days of my life. Challenge Roth epitomises everything that is great about triathlon.”
So what makes these laces so special?
GREEPER® Laces are a patented lacing system that enables quick and easy release and fastening of the laces. The laces are made with highest quality 100% polyester laces (exactly the same as those supplied by the shoe manufacturers).
They are not elastic – but they are still an outstanding speed lace for multisport activities!
They provide plenty of support and help to prevent injuries associated with other popular speed laces, especially over longer distances.
